FEBRUARY 6. 1911 Radical Member Is Chosen Head Of Interstate Commerce Board WANTS BAILEY LOCAL P. 0 Eugene's postal receipts still con tinue to forge ahead with remark able steadiness. The percentage of increase for January. 1911. over the corresponding month in 1910 stands 14.5. The per cent of Increase from month to month for over a year has varied around the 15 per cent mark with surprising regularity. This shows the steadiness of Eugene's growth. The postal receipts for January. 1911. as recorded upon the books of Postmaster Page amount to $3390.81 For the same month last year, $2955 23. an increase of $335.58. There have been no unus ually large sales this month to affect the showing made and the figures can be considered typical of Eu gene's growth It is also a fact that a certain firm with offices in Eu gene purchased a large stock of post age stamps outside of the city. The postmaster is investigating this, as the postoffice rules will not permit another office to sell in large quan tities the stamps that will be used principally elsewhere.
