It is quite possible that a pottery
may be established here in the near
future, a deposit of clay having been
found near the foothills which is pro
nounced suitable for the purpose by
an experienced pottery worker, who
will probably test the matter in the
coming spring or summer.
The plastering on R. J. Hemphill's
new residence is nearly done and the
family expect to occupy it before
Christmas. This undoubtedly Is the
best residence near the Military road
from Eugene to Igjwell, and one of
the best in the county.
While the Commercial Club or city
council are trying to secure better
telephone service for Eugene it vouli
be to their interest to Include the
lines from Eugene to Springfield u
