Since that time Private Baker has been transferred to headquarters non-com missioned staff, and appointed regi mental color sergeant, and Mr. Mar tin has been discharged from the service on account of ill health, los ing Io the Cottage Grove Company two excellent marksmen, but Captain Johnson thinks he has developed in lhe company other riflemen who will be able to retain the honors at Cot tage Grove, and expects that both the individual medal and the cup will re main in that city after the contest ends this season. The names of those entering th“ team will not be selected until 24 hours before the contest, as there are many good shots in the company and competition is very k«»en to gain a place, and the uncertainty stimulates good practice.
