The three hundred Shrin-
ers on their pilgrimage from
Portland to Eugene today-
held up the train of E. H.
Harriman, the great railroad
magnate, and forced him to
alight and speak to the
Shriners. The holdup occur
red on a siding and was ac
complished by the aid of a
Chinese flag and the Arab
Patrol. Harriman donned a
fez of Al Kader temple and
shook hands with many men.
After the Shrners had cheer
ed the railroad official and as
his train started, Harriman
stood on the rear platform
and said:
"Now give three cheers
for J. P. O’Brien."

from shock following gastric hemor

continued for years.
Somerville was stricken with hem

business, of which he had been pro

morning of August 13. He died at
3:30 o'clock in the afternoon.
"There is no question but that his
hemorrhage was brought on by the
continued use of alcohol." said Dr.
Brown today,
"I was convinced of
that when I signed the death certlfi-

"We are suspicious about his
death." said Fred Somerville today.
"I did not know anything of it until
the body had been sent to Eugene,
Oregon. I had thought somewhat of
employing private detectives, My
lawyer advised me to do so when I
laid the case before him. I have now
decided to enlist the aid of the po-

Somerville refused to say much
