I \ NEWS FROM THE INGHAM VINEGAR LUCKY BOY CLERK'S OFFICE FACTORY WILL MINE SHORT REMAIN HERE OF HANDS Chittem Bark Wanted The Guard is glad to annouuce to day that tin Ingham vinegar factory, one of the most important manutac turn g industries in Eugene, «ill not be removed to Portland, as previous ly announced, but will continue in operation here. E. H. Ingham, one ot the i«r lieipal owners of the plan*, yesterday stated positively that the plaut will remain, but that he will re move to Portland .where he will en gage in similar business. He was not ready to state who would operate the fretory here, but it will be in competent hands. It will be remembered that Mr. Ingham announced a few mouths ago that the plant would lie taken to Portland because of ex« essive railroad rates ou its product from Eugene. The Eugene commercial bodies took the matter up with the Southern Pa cific Company, with the result that a satisfactory rate was arranged, but still Mr. Ingham talked of removing the plant to Portland. He has at last, however, decided that it will be beat to leave it here and operate au- other one in the metropolis. I am in the market for all the bark 1 can possibly get.
