REAMES . SELECTED Democratic Nominee for Congress Named Today. Harmony Pr-vailed in Albany-- Enthu iasm for Ream« Reached High Pitch—Now for a Hot Campaign. (Guard Special Service.) Alliany, Oregon, April 11.—Tbe Democratic district convention met hers tills morning and was conveued by Chairman Sam White at nine o'clock. Everything went off lovely for the Deiiiix :al- and they had a harmonious convention, one without etiifi- and one which is conducive to tn. best ilileiests of tlie party. Attorney A. E. Kearnes,Jackson, was nominated on the first ballot, re ceivlng 07 votes out of 101. The se lection was made unanimous. ENTHUSIASTIC SI'EFX’H. Sam White <>|>ened the convention with an enthusiastic speech, predict ing victory in this district for the nominee of the convention. The speech was a rouser for democracy. Everyone was dated over tbe selec tion of Binger Hermann as candidate to oppose on the Republican ticket. There is a widespread finding of satis faction at the outset.
