PACIFIC CHRISTIAN 8 MOMMOUTH. « f f. T ] t 1 J a 1 I t t < 1 1 > < f » t i r f J t er approximation to the year of < 'hrist’s birth by the help of Luke’s remark (iii., 2-23,; that Jesus was about thirty years old in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Ca-sar. Tiberius became sole emperor in Au gust, in the year of Rome 7G7. Add the fourteen years of Tiberius’ reign, and it appears that Christ was about thirty years of age in the year of R<>me.7M. But there is some reason to think that Augustus made Tiberius I partner in the government two years I before, that is, in 765 plus fourteen years. In this case Tiberius’ fifteenth year would be 779 of the year of | Rome. Now,’ if our Savior was about thirty years old in the year of Rome 781, He was born about the year of Rome 7-rl. If in the year of Rome 79, then He was bom about the year of Rome 749.— Ckrutian at Work. SATURDAY, SEPT, 21, TO THE PUBLIC r —:o— 1878. • PHYSICIANS. ATTORNEYS. FURNITURE, etc. Obituary.
