L. V. Calloway, went to Portland
last Saturday and from there to Sea
side where they spent Sunday. Mre.
Calloway then resumed her journey
to her home at Mountain Home,
Idaho, and the doctor returned to
this city Tuesday evening.

Timothy Goodrich, of North Yam
hill, Oregon, an old time resident and
well to do farmer is going to retire
from the farming business and will
hold a public sale Saturday, September
19th, at 10 o'clock. Among the
articles to be sold are some Percheron
mares, cotswold sheep and registered
Angora goats.
J. M. Craven has purchased a half
interest in a hardware store in the
town of Wallowa in Eastern Oregon.
He is associated in the enterprise with
his brother, J. R. Craven, who will be
remembered by the people of the
Independence country. Mr. Craven
has been with the Wade & Co. people
during the last two years.
