Two months ago he came to Dallas and acted as best man at the wedding of his brother, Chauncey, and Misb Ruth VanOrsdel. He was enjoying the best of health at that time, and the news of lus sudden death is there fore all the more shocking to his many friends in this city. , Clay was a young man of excellent business ability, and by his kind dis position and refined manners lie gained and held the warm friendship of all with whom he became acquaint ed. His death at the beginning of a promising career will be deeply mourned, and the sympathy of a wide circle of friends goes out to the sur viving relatives in their sad bereave ment. Dallas Observer. VanLoau, who on his way' tu Independence a week ago, contracted pneumonia while enroute, died at the home of his son, J. L. VanLoan, who resides in the southern suburbs of Independence, Sunday, Juoe 21. The remains, were shipped to the family home in Spring Valley, Minnesota, Monday, wherp they were; laid to rest.
