Mrs. Merrill was formerly Miss Ivy Haley, one of Polk county's popular young teuohers. Perhaps uo more wide awake boy than 13 year old Walter Kerr cau be found in Polk county. He is working on Mr. Fuqua's farm, at any kind of work that may be found to do. And during the sum mer vacation, he will earn money to buy his books and clothes, be sides helping his motherat home.
