The logging season is the boat ing or high water season, which is now at hand. To many laborer! it is the harvest of the year, for it affords employment while other work is at a standstill. Logging begin this week in the vicinity of ttuena Vista, at the mouth of the Luckiamute. The steamer Gray Kagle will be placed in service on the task. There are 10,000.000 feet of logs to bo rafted and the work ia beinjr done for the well known Spaulding Logging Co. The rafts go to New-berg-and Oregon City and. like the moun tain brook that helps to swell the ocean, they are but a unit of the vast amount uf logs that are rafted annually on Oregon's placid Wil lamette. x What and 'Where We Are.
