There was a dance at Woodman hall last Friday night. Van Sears has bought the build ing formerly used for a confection ory and moved it up to his livery stable. Fred Phillips has bought the K. A.Campbell property and moved there this week. Emory Ryan, of Astoria, is visit iog his father here. Miss Jessie Green, of Amity, has been visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Orchard. Mary Ottinger has gone to work for Mrs. Gunning, of Belleview. Mi-is Lillie Berey ha gone to Clem, Or. Charley Ottinger has gone to Washington to see his brother. Fred Wilhoit and wife, lately from Illinois haye gone to keep house for William Clanfield. Our public scnool is progressing nicely. Both teachers are giving satisfaction. A number of our farmers are nuttine in oat stubble with a rolling harrow. From experiments last year as good a crop can be raised with less expense. E. A. West, lately from Everett. Wash., has moved to Buell, where he will locate. Charley and Alice Ottinger, have returned from a visit to Winlock, Wash. Rose MayEeld, Lawrence Newbill and Viola Gould have what is called smallpox.
