W. are preparing for a log rolling to be given during the holidays, a number of new mem bers have already made application and a good jolly time is expected. Emmitt to his home ut Falls City, Monday. Mr. Geo. Adkins and party, re turned from Lake Creek the 1st, having killed 11 deer. Mrs. Parrish visited her daughter Mrs. Mary Van Winkle, of Salem Saturday. Little Edna Parks had the mis fortune to break her arm one day. last week. The accident was caused by the child falling down stairs at school. The dance at the Woodmen hall last Saturday night seemed to be a success socially and financially and will be followed by others at intervals during the ainter. Ex cellent music made the evening pass very rapidly and the large number of young people thorough Iy enjoyed every minute. Such social events help to liven up the deadness of a small town and pro mote a more social feeling among the young people. . The board of Regents will visit the school Thursday and will be ninrtained in the evenine by the girls Basket ball team. They will play a game at the Gymnasium on that evening. Everybody welcome. Mr. Newman, a recent arrival from San Francisco, is remodelling the Younger house having pur chased it. Mrs. Lacey, of Oregon City is visiting her mother, Mrs. Allen.
