Yost made a business trip j to Sa'em last week. I Jay Brown, of McTimmons I Valley, died on the 18th and was buried the following day in the Smith cemetery near Lewisville. Though Mr. Brown had been quite feeble for several years the imme diate cause of his death was paraly sis, from which he suffered during the past three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. John Mitchel, of Inavale, Benton county are the guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Winner. Mr. Mitchel conducts a store and is postmaster at Inavale. M. L. France, of the Hoskine saw mill company, was a caller last week and reports the lumber trade as being very active. Alva Worner has a three-year-old I'ercheron filly that weighs 1510 pounds.- This is probably the heaviest animal of the same age in the country. The logging camps in this vicin ity furnish a ready market for large quantities of hay, potatoes, butter and other ranch products. Joe Brown sold 30 head of beef cattle to Salem butcher, last week. Charlie Kagleson, of Chanipoeg, has come up to assist his uncle Thomas Kinchin, in hay harvest.
