RoKser was able to fill his pulpit Sunday morning, but gains strength slowly these warm days. Farmers are deep in harvest. many threshing and n:any cutting. Ilosser shipped some fine young fryers and boilers to the Portland market thi week, getting $4 and $3 respectively. Henry Williams, who has been assisting George Girnrd in the grint mill, is now at home, since Girard 1H8 discontinued operations at the mill. Mrs. Hadley, of St. John, is vis iting friends in thin neighborhood. Having resided in Lewisville a few years ago, she is well and favor ably known. B.F.and F. M. Smith have nearly completed their new barns, F. M. and J. II. Lewis and Doc Janett their new residences and now who would know us? Kelley had bin arm injured Sunday morning while currying a horse and could not till his appoint ments for that day, but will only be laid up for two or throe days. Albert Teal is headsawyer in the Mountain Mills. Lee Fenton and Juston Hunter are making some improvements on the ohm owned by the former. Eph Shelton, of Dallas, and Miaa Eliza SAlles, of Liberty, were visit ing Grandma Glaze on Sunday last. Miss Mary Taylor, who has been visiting relatives near Brownsville, returned home last Saturday even ing. Ben Harrington is painting the residence of Mr. Forshey. The Falls City hotel also has a fine coat. Fred Holman returned home last week from Benton county, where he has been working for Flynn A Ewing Jack Wagoner and Mrs. Finch went over to. Benton county, and will be the guewt of Mr. and Mrs. Flynn while there. Quite a number of our citizens who went to Xewport, have re turned home, and report having had n pleasant time. Paul Hunter, of this place, and Mr. Wright, of Oakdalo, were nail ing Thursday of last week and WW of the finy tribe were captured. Messrs. ChApin and Parker are leveling up and getting the ground ready and work will commence at once upon Mr. Lucas' largo store uildiug. Frank Cmd and wile, Ed Coad and wife and Mrs. Jennie Coad, ot ul!a, were up at Grandma Glaze's Mountain Fnnn gathering hazel nuts hiht Saturday and Sunday. ZI.NA. William Habs has a new buggy and a fine driving horse. Mrs. Sam Phillips went on an outing trip to the const last reek. Miss A. E. Clu'-k start for Ore gon City this week, where she will remain a few days. M iss Frances Mann in going to start for Xew York in a short tim3, where she will remain. J. R.
