Mr. Krutz is an uncle of Guy Prathev, who is seriously ill at the home of his parents in this city, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pringle and babe and Miss Doris Leever of Crab tree, were week-end callers at the Edgar Lichty home. Misses. Evans and Brown, who were engaged to teach school here the coming year, have cancelled their contract, and Miss Brown will teach in Falls City and Miss Evans will go to the Monmouth Normal. However, Misses Luthold and Wil son of Yamhill county, will fill the vacancy. Nelson Anderson and wife mo. tored to Belknap Springs Sunayand returned the same day with Mrs. E. J. Anderson, who had spent some ime there Miss Turnbull of North Dakota, arrived here Friday to assist her uncle in the store. Her parents will come later. She expects to en ter high school this fall. H. E. Prather, wife and son were Sunday visitors at the Taylor Hill home near Monmouth. Fritz Torgenson, one of the thrifty farmers of this community, is now driving a new Cleveland- Six auto. Professor Reynolds ha3 given his trusty little gray Ford a new coat of paint, and now the little yellow Ford rambles right along. Mrs. William Setax left last week for a several days' visit with relatives near Roseburg. Wayne Moe was an over Sunday visitor with relatives near McMinn-ville.
