The Deforest family,' iwho have been living nt Horst Company's, have moved to Independence for the wm- The girls of the Oak Point School met Tuesday at the home of their teacher, Mrs. Collins, and canned the supply of peaches to be used by the school for lunches tlrs winter, Some of them look so pood that they will be taken to the Polk County F-iir as part of the school exhibit. The school hopes to have a booth at the fair. Mrs. Joe Roarers will enertnin quite a number of friends at a Kensington Tursday afternoon. The Community Club met last Thursday at, the club rooms. The hostesses were Mrs.Lee Rolwrts and Mrs. J. A. Wood, who served a de licious luncheon to the dozen ladies assembled. Hostesses for the next meeting are Mrs. John Underwood and Mrs. J. II. Collins. Miss Dorothy Fitchard Is enter taining today for Miss Lucile Crav en who soon leave for Hood River. Miss Foster has as her guest Mrs. Chamberlain of Cascade Locks. Mrs. G. W. Mueller and Mrs. Her man Mueller spent Friday with their father in Albany. At present he is very low and little hope is held out for his recovery.
