They went down to see Presi dent Taft and visit friends. They wire accompanied by Mr. Ball's brother who has been here on a short visit. Mrs. W. W. Watson, a sister of Wm. Dawes of this city, left yester day for h:r home at Lewiston, Mon tana, after spending the summer with her brother. She was accompanied by Edith, the daughter of Mr. Dawes, who will attend school there this win:er. The Harris hop yard north of town was sold this week to E. M. Young of this city. The place contains twen ty seven and a fractional part of an acra and the price paid was $3500. The Harris place adjoins the hop yard of Mr. Young and squares up his yard, giving him 135 acres. Dr. C. P. Fryer and his sister, Mrs. Dr. T. C. Campbell, of Castle Rock, Washington, who have been visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Fryer of Independence, left for home this weak. Their mother accompan ied them and they expect to visit the Seattle Fair before returning home. R. J. Taylor and wife left yester day for Roosevelt, Washington, where thev so to visit their daughter, Mrs. Loren Wann. whe resides near that town. They expect to be gone about a month and will visit also with the family of Elvln Carter of Bickleton.
