Ackerman has declined to aid in promoting leglsla tion having for Its purpose establish ment of a system of inspection and uniform examinations in High Schools. There are two movements on foot for the creation of the office of High School Inspector. One plan is that the High School Inspector shall be appointed by the State University and shall bring the High Schools of the state to such a standard of work as shall harmonize with the work of the University. The other plan is that the inspector shall be appointed by the State Board of Education and shall bring the High Schools to such a standard as the board may deem best for the students.
