A t noon the business men o f this city donated ice cream to the generous lunch which the Elkins committee had provided. Both the Rickreall-Holmes Gap section and Monmouth-Benton coun ty line section o f the West Side highway are to benefit from the al lotment o f Federal funds to Oregon which in 1923 amounts to $788,443. Prof. Gentle has been enjoying his vacation by raisings chin beard. Mr. Gentle says his experiences in the cultivation o f this sort o f a crop are comical as well as entertaining and he gets as much pleasure out o f it as he would in a trip to the sea shore.
