McDonald were married in Providence, Rhode Island and last Friday eveninv a number o f friends hel|>ed celebrate the anniversary. The guests did not know the nature o f the occasion but were nut long in finding out, once they arrived upon the scene. Host and hostess made them thoroughly at home and then were lost or a time in myster ious preparation. With Miss Grace Parker at the piano the wedding march resounded and attired in the raiment of twenty five years ago the joyously youthful couple appear ed and renewed their vows o f a quarter o f a century ago. With his feet firmly planted on the floor and an aureole o f benevolence plain ly evident over his classical counte nance, A. Parker acted as -official uniter o f the matrimonial cords. Do you, Janies, he inquired solicit ously, promise to be cheerful when the beefsteak is not as well done as you think it should be; to get up at three o ’clock in the morning to take in the washing when a storm threatens, to allow yourself to be stuck full o f pins when your wife is using you as s dress maker’s model and a few other things to which Mack cheerfully assented. After Mrs. McDonald had agreed to an equally solemn and serious questionnaire. Mr. Parker announc ed that the happy couple were en titled to live together in peace and harmony for twenty five years more. Mr. McDonald’s suit consisted o f a black frock coat, a white waiat- coat and black trousers. He said the suit was made by the best tailor in Providence and as good a suit as his shop turned out, although the price, $35 which the suit cost, seems quite moderate now. Mrs. McDonald,s dress also reflected the styles o f twenty five years ago. A marching column was then formed for the dining room where the guests were greeted with large quantities of ice cream, cake and fruit juice. All the cakes you have known since you were a youngster were there; fruit cake, nut cake, chocolate cake, layer cake, angel food cake and all the rest o f them and the guests samped them all. A very pleasant evening was spent made especially so by the glimpses it enabled the guests to obtain o f the ideal home life o f their estim able hosts. Another Vote on Gym The delayed gymnasium at the high school will come up for an other consideration at the special school tax budget meeting to be held in November, according to present plans. While a direct tax o f $ 5 ,0 0 0 and bonds o f $5 ,0 0 0 were voted at a special meeting Held two years ago, it was found that bonding companies could not he found to handle the issu® le - cause the special tax w is voted otherwise than in the annual bud get. The law p n - ides that warrants shall be issued in $50 denominatfims which »h*ll be advertised for sale locally and buyers seeking the smallest amounts *Jiall have first attention in the sale o f the warrants. The project for the gymnasium is to be separate, from the budget and will require a separate vote.
