In the letter the sister expressed the opinion that all' would be well "if the Kaiser were dead." The letter was opened by the censor and this addition made: "Your sister was executed to day." No wonder the citizens of Germany are filled with devo tion for and loyalty to the emperor. Many a German lad has slipped out of that country through the back door, through Holland or Switzerland, to avoid military service and America has given him refuge. Confronted by a military conscription law in this country he will have to slip back again. That is, if the training is of the same sort. Arthur .
