Mulkey, Jr., are home from the U. of 0. for the Thanksgiving vacation, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Wright of Eugene spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Alice Canning. Howard Morlan, Roland Dobell, Jack Wood, Joe Clark and Floyd Williams were Salem visitors Thanksgiving night G. T. Boothby and wife spent Thanksgiving with their daugh ter, Mrs. McCready, in Cor vallis. Arthur Burkhead came home from Wefidling to spend Thanks giving with his mother, Mrs. L R, Burkhead. Something like 130 tickets were sold for the special train out of the city Wednesday morning to Portland. Miss Elizabeth Read attended the sessions of the state Music Teachers' Association in Port land the latter part of last week. Miss Gladys Wade of the Mon mouth post office spent Thanks giving with her parents in Brownsville. Miss Dorothy Brewster is suf fering an attack of diphtheria and the Monmouth restaurant is closed as the result of quarantine. A social time was had, refresh ments were served and all report a very pleasant time. The even ing was that of Mr. Fisher's 4Cth anniversary.
