He has also been given the superintendency of the Pendleton school system. Arle. as he is commonly called, is a graduate of the Oregon State Normal at Monmouth. Hugh M. Guthrie, wife and small daughter, Doris, of Cor vallis, visited Mr. Guthrie's par ents here a few days and then passed on to Portland for a short visit tnere. Mrs. Guthrie and daughter will visit friends at Prescott and Walla Walla, Wash ington, for a month while Mr. Guthrie will return home from Portland.
