Kitchen, of Albany, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. F. R. Boworsox, and family. Work will commence on V. J. Mulkey's two-story brick building as soon as mat; rial can be gotten upon the ground. Lee Scheible came in from Suver Saturday to visit his brother, Guy Scheible, returning to that place Monday. J. S. Prime made a run over from Newport Friday returning to the beach again next day. He reported a very pleasant outing for himself and family. C. L. Ilawley and family and B. F. Baker and family returned from the coast Saturday having spent a few days camping and fishing at different places. Walter Strain and wife and child, and Velma Heffley and Fred Smith went to Sulphur Springs Sunday, some six miles from Corvallis, to spend the day picnicing and fishing. Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Fream and daughter, Ruby, were called to Falls City last Friday night on account of the illness of Mrs. Lewis, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fream. Sickafoose and Jack Leask, of Monmouth, were in our neighborhood Saturday. Will Mack and Geo. Bennett, of Monmouth, were out to Mr. Mack's place here last week. James Goodman and. Frank Clark, of Monmouth, have been hauling wood from the Heights. August Ohms and family, of Canada, visited with his sisters, Mrs. Geo. Heck and Mrs. Bertha Layson, several days. Lycurgus Van Zandt, Jr., who died Tuesday, were conducted at the family home, 658 Henderson street, Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Services were conducted by Rev. William Caldwell and Rev. L. D. Anderson, of Fort Worth, assisted by Rev. P. M. Fitzgerald, of Arlington. "Mrs. Van Zandt .is survived by her husband and son, Lycur gus; her mother, Mrs. E. S. Beaumont; two sisters, Mrs. Duke Burgess and Miss Ruth Beaumont, and three brothers, C. E. Beau mont, A. B. Beaumont and W. C. Beaumont. With the exception of C. E. Beaumont, ot Fresno, Cal., and A. B. Beaumont, of Monmouth, Ore., all reside in Fort Worth." Aviator Drops Bomb That De stroys Vessel Nogales, Ariz., July 29. The Federal gunboat Tampico was destroyed yesterday by a bomb dropped from an aeroplane over Guaymas Harbor, declared an official insurgent message. It was said that Aviator Didier Masson made three flights over the harbor before he succeeded in hitting the boat.
