The plug which gave way this time was one of those which had been reset. A second break occurred Wednesday afternoon, caused by an accident to the pipe in taking down the old tower, letting all of the water out of the reservoir. Mrs. E. W. Strong received word Wednesday morning that her mother, Mrs. Watt, had passed away at the old home stead at Beaverton, Ore. Mrs. Watt is also the mother of Sena tor Watt and was nearly 90 years old. Mrs. Strong left on the afternoon train Wednesday for Beaverton and Mr. Strong went later. Mrs. Frank Murdock went to Portland Thursday of last week, returning Sunday with her sister, Miss Fahy, who came from Montana to make her an ex tended visit. While in Portland, Mrs. Murdock visited J. L. Mur dock and family, and reports them getting along nicely. They sent their love to Monmouth friends. pendence.
