Scio owns her own water cents for the same size of cast iron pipe, while the life of the wooden pipe is 16 years and that of the iron pipe is but four years more. Scio has advantages Monmouth does not possess as she has water power to operate her pump and electric plant but when we take into consideration the cost of in stalling her water system we are inclined to think that one that will give an abundant supply of water and sufficient pressure for fire protection can be installed here for less than $10,000 and,it is perhaps possible to reach it at a cost of about $6000, and while the cost of operation will be greater, it should not necessarily be sufficiently so as to become burdensome.
