The - Gerlinger mill has - just completed a new blacksmith shop and other improvements. Henry Pfandhoeffer has re turned from Corvallis to spend vacation with the home folks. Chas. Vick is having a wind mill put up on his lot to furnish water for the house and yard. Mr. Lewis, who disposed of his house and lot recently, has moved into the Darling house in the south part of town. ; . Mrs. A. L. Alderman, mother of Mrs.,F. K. Hubbard and Mrs. WB. Mr. Tilton is in poor health and is not improving as hoped for. v 7 E. E. Beezley,- who was taken last Sunday to the hospital, died Friday June 25 at the ripe old age of 78 years. The funeral was preached by Rev. LaDow Sunday at 2 o'clock, at the Chris tian church. He leaves a wife and three sons to mourn his loss: Airlie The new store building is about ready for the goods. ! Mrs. Wade Williams' niece, Miss Baker, is visiting with her. Sydney Trask made a flying trip to Corvallis one day last week. . . . Vivian Post has been visiting her grandmother at Pedee this week. Mrs. Barney Morrison is now visiting her daughter, Mrs. Jeff Bevens. Miss Huston, of Corvallas, is here on a visit to Mrs. Orval Buchanan. , John Post, who works for C, T. Allen, has been quite sick for the past week. ' Walter Norton, of Lewisville, has been quite ill for the last couple of weeks. , Virgil Bevens went over to the Yaquina on a visit to his uucle, Chester Morrison.1' Miss May Moses is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Trask. Her home is at Warm Springs. C. S. Kingery has arrived from McMinnville to help C. T. Allen in his butcher shop. " Mrs. James and her grandson, Mr. Bevins, were over at Mort Staats' over Sunday to visit. There was a social dance last Saturday at Asa Staats', which was enjoyed by all who attended. Mr. Johnson has been visiting his daughter, Mrs. J. C, Simpson for a week. His health has been poor but is how improving. We are sorry to hear of the severe illness of Mrs. Frank Brown, who once lived near Airlie. We trust she will soon be better. Mrs. Howard Bush, of Albany, came over Saturday.' Pen not, Johnson and Cecil Staats, is getting along nicely. Her many friends wish her a speedy recov ery to perfect health. There has been several cases of measles in and about Airlie. There was a "very liberal fellow, who scattered them at the Ridders Grove picnic. However, the cases around here are about well, with no serious results. Monmouth Heights. Lehman is the proud owner of a new buggy. , , Mr. Chaney is erecting a new woodshed this week. Geo. Boothby, of Monmouth, was over the Heights Monday. Russell and Robert Fishback spent Sunday at Turner camp meeting. ' : ' Jesse Johnson, who is working near Independence visited friends in this vicinity Saturday. William and Elmer Griffith, of Rickreall, were guests of friends here the first of the week. A. J. Shipley and two sons, Chas. and Robert spent Saturday and Sunday at Bridgeport. ' 4 Allie Griffith and family drove to Rickreall Sunday to make his mother, Mrs. Sliger a visit. Geo. Sullivan, of Monmouth, and James Goodman returned Friday from a fishing trip to the Siletz Basin. Mrs. Belle Johnson and two daughters, Fern and Hazel, who are working near Independence in a hop yard, spent Saturday, at home.
