U. of A. was out here this week visiting the lodge at this place. He appoint ed A. N. Foole deputy organizer. There will be a meeting held in the postoffice block next Mon day at 2 o'clock for the purpose of organizing a horticnltural society or fruit growers union. This meeting should be well patronized as it is necessary that the fruit growers of this part of the state organize for their mutual protection. Last Monday night as the Odd Fellows were about to close lodge a herald was sent into the room announcing the presence of visitors requesting that they might be admitted; they also re quested that they might come in in disguise and be known only by a number attached to each. The Odd Fellows to try and guess the names of as many as possible the one guessing the most correct ly to receive a prize. We im mediately declared a recess and invited our guests into the lodge room. Imagine our surprise when thirty female figures clad in white sheets and masks marched in and around the hall appearing to be very much interested in everything they saw and especial ly attentive to the members. At first we thought the ladies were suspicious that we were not conducting ourselves at lodge in strict accordance with the rules of our order and had taken this method of investigation, but we soon recovered our comnosure and began trying to figure out who our strange guests were. W. R. Graham and J. Radek tied each other guessing twelve correctly. After the contest and removal of their masks a short time was spent in social inter- Grove A.
