WE THANK YOU The Observer thoroughly appreci-J ates the many words of kindness it has received the past few weeks as our efforts to give Polk County a good paper. Our market feature has been the cause of several lettei-s, thanking us for publishing the same. We will in each issue publish the correct report of the markets that is of interest to the farmers of this sec tion and they will be correct to date. We do not try to please everyone, if we did we would be too good for this earth and then again there would be no room in these columns for news as the dope that is asked us to print would not look well and then again if we were to try and please a certain individual, his head would burst with conceit, and while we would be ac quitted on the plea of justifiable homi cide the undertaker would be a long time collecting his bill as from our information if his individual debt were paid there would be nothing left. X2 Michael Angelo Hurll Murillo Hurll 1.00 8.00 On Monday of this week Dr. Tool opened his offices at his former place, the residence of Mrs. Smith, 619 Washington St., Dallas, Oregon, one- half block east of the S. P. R. R. depot. The delay was unavoidable because he needed twice as much room as during his stay here last year, so as to be able to place all his new electric machines. ' The rooms had to be freshly papered, cold and hot water had to be installed, and also an en tire new electric wiring system, with outlets on all four walls of the oper ating room so as to enable the doctor to place and connect all his different electrie machines. Dr. Toel makes it a point to always secure the best electrical apparatus obtainable for the use on his patients and his collection of electrodes is larger and of greater variety than is found in most specialists' offices m even the largest cities. His long experience of over thirty years in his specialities gains the confidence of patients afflicted with even the severest forms of cancers and tumors and the other diseases of which he has for such a long time made. a speciality. The great advantage of electricity in the removal of cancers is that there is absolutely no loss of blood. The second advantage is that as the blood vessels and lymphatic vessels are her- matically sealed up by the electricity during the very process of the opera- ion, an inoculation with cancer germs and cells is consequently impos sible during an electrical operation, while this is of common occurence during operations with the knife. After knife operations the cancer re- urns in from 75 to 80 per cent. Af ter electric operations, when perform ed by an expert in that line, a return is a comparative rarity. 'Electrical operations are also free from the danger of bloodpoisoning. The use of plasters and salves to eat out a cancer piece-meal, is extremely pain ful, while after an electrical opera tion no pain is felt, the pain after the application of the plasters and salves keeping on for hours or days. Aside of this the slow process of de stroying the cancer irritates the germs and cells to such an extent that they begin to multiply and to migrate into the lymphatic glands, thus forming new cancers. Electri cal operations can in the hands of an expert be done as quickly .as with the knife. Many forms of tumors, piles and fistula, enlarged tonsils, adenoid tu mors, polypus and similar troubles can be cured far better with electrici ty than with the knife. Patients, however, should be careful that they place themselves not only in the hands of an electro-surgeon who has! all the different forms of electric ap paratus on hand for the different forms of electric operations, but es pecially select a surgeon who has many years experience in their use. Dr. Toel can be found at his old office, 619 Washington St., Dallas, Oregon, one-half block east of the S. P. depot, from 9 a. m. to 12 noon, 2 to 5 p. m., 7 to 8 p. m., Sunday, 10 to 1 p. m.
