With the tariff off corn and mil lions of bushels being shipped in from Argentina, the price of corn raised by the farmer here does not moke very great advances. Governor West's private secretary, Misa Hobbs seems to be getting con siderable notoriety, but in each in stance it seems that the taxpayer has paid all the expense. That New Hampshire sheriff who says that he finds Harry Thaw is "a pleasing companion" differs some what from Stanford White and some others who have associated with him in the past. Several grand stand politicians are trying to make hay between the seasons of the football games and the time when interest is centered in the national game of base ball, and are trying to get the attention of the people and make a little hay. Reports from all over the country point to a united Republican party, there seem to be very few people who wish to continue the Progressive par ty. There are of course a few who like notoriety who are trying to keep up the division, but the rank and file of the people who do the voting and are looking for results want the par ty united so that they may get better and more advanced legislation. . The large army of unemployed is the best evidence of the lack of confidence of the country in the ability of the Dem ocratio party in national affairs. A Typewriter That Can Do Every thing But Talk. The No. 10 Royal Doubtless most of you who read these lines have already seen the an nouncement of this marvelous type writer, the No. 10 Royal. Full page advertisements of this wonderful machine are now appearing in the Saturday Evening Post, Cosmojwli, tan, and other publications of nation al importance. I desire to announce that I have placed an order for two of these No. 10 Royals and am expecting them daily. Immediately upon their arri val, I shall be glad to demonstrate to any person interested the most marvelous typing machine ever in vented, a machine fully ten years in advance of the times. During the year just closed, I sold twelve of the No. 5 Royals, the $75 machine. With the addition of the new No. 10 Model at 100, I expect to double my Royal tale, this com ing year. Do not even think of placing an or der for a typewriter until you have teen the new No. 10 Royal, the ma chine that eaa do everything but talk. J. C. HAYTER BOOKSELLER AND STATIONER 428 Kail Street Some time ago the appeal of a min ister's wife in New Jersey that she might be scientifically put to death to relieve her of intense and appar ently hopeless suffering attracted wide attention. It now appeal's that the woman was finally induced to go to a Philadelphia hospital and sub mit to an intricate surgical opera tion, which acording to letters writ ten, to friends in her former home in Kansas, has resulted in her complete cure. She adds, however: "But my gratitude has not made' me forget those still lingering in pain. Perhaps some day, when we understand bet ter the meaning of life and the true significance of death a law which I so desire to see passed will be a reality." In strict logic however, she ought to work for more hospitals. Heating Stoves sDOWN THEY GO WE QUOTE A FEW PRICES AS A SAMPLE Was $10.50, t Was $15.50, Was $16.00, Now $11.50 All new and .best makes.
