COLORED SINGERS GIVES PROMISE OF RARE TREAT Dallas College to Entertain Music Lovers With Performance By "Virginia Warblers." The next entertainment to be giv . en by Dallas College in its Lyceum course will be held in Woodman Hall Wednesday, January 3, when "Virginia Warblers" will appear. The treat in store for the people of Dallas will be better realized when it is seen how they have pleased elsewhere : "The sacred concert given by the Virginia Warblers at the Methodist church last Sunday evening was a grand treat. Could we have such music every Sunday evening, no doubt but what we would soon have the largest attendance of any church in the city. The Virginians are wel come always." Rev. Thomas Vaa . dike, First M. E. Church, Chicago. "Every seat was full last night at the Presbyterian church to hear the Virginia Warblers. There were six of them, each one a master in their line, and they furnj.shed an entertainment appreciated by every one present. If the encores they re ceived indicate the pleasure of the audience they were indeed great singers. The songs were simple mel odies, rendered in an artistic manner, and required no 'cultured ears to be appreciated. Every number of the program was excellently render ed and received hearty applause, The colored race is especially adapt ed to render these plantation melo dies in a pleasing and delightful way, and these singers were no ex ception." Rev. Thompson, Winona, Illinois.
