Miss Louise Collins returned home
yesterday from Salem, where she has

for the Feeble Minded. She was ac

Invalid Daughter Dies.
Millie Schrelber, the 20-year-old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Schrelber,
died at the family home in Salem.
Monday. The young lady had been an
Invalid for about ten years. She was
a niece of Mrs. G. M. Gooch and a
cousin of Harry Marshall, of this city.
Mrs. Gooch and Mr. Marshall attended
the funeral in Salem, Wednesday.

Registration continues slow in Polk
County, notwithstanding the interest
in politics that is being aroused among
the voters. ' Up to this date, the books
in several precincts do not show a
single name, and It is safe to estimate
that not more than one-twelfth of the
voting population of the county Is now
registered. ' -
The. total registration up to yester
day, by party affiliation, was as fol
lows: Republicans, 109; Democrats,
86; Prohibitionists, 3 Independent, 2
Socialists, 2; expressing no party
preference, 9. ' 1
The books show the names of the
following voters:
Veteran Printer Dead.
Coll Van Cleve a veteran of the
Civil War, and a pioneer newspaper
man of Oregon, died in Portland a few
days ago, aged 77 years. He was the
father of 13 children, six of whom
survive him. One of the surviving
daughters is Mrs. Floyd Williams, of
Independence.
