Entered as second-class matter March 1. 1907. at the post office at Dallas, Oregon, nnder the Act oi uongrets ot March 3, 1879. DALLAS, OREGON, JUNE S, 1909 The way to build up Dallas ts to pat ronize Dallas people. Id the election of Hod. Joseph Si moo to the office of Mayor, Portland is to be congratulated oo having placed the management of the city's business in the hands of a thoroughly competent and conscientious business man. Christian Revival. From the beginning the attendance at the revival in the Christian church tent has been very large and enthus iastic. The tent will seat over 500 and each night it Is filled. Whistou Is preaching great sermons aod get ting stronger each night. His delin eations of character and apt illustra tions are unsurpassed. A varied pro gram of solos, duets and choruses are rendered each night Longman is par excellence as a soloist and chorus leader. These meetings will continue each night at 8 o'clock sharp. The evangelist requests people to come as nearly on time as possible, and espec ially that they will not talk ou the outside of the tent during the services. The next three subjects are Winston's specials: Tuesday, "The Second Com ing of Christ;" Wednesday, "A Good Man j" Thursday, "Sowing and Reap log." Advice For Thi fired Women The advice of the sage "Whatever you are, be a good one," applies, if slightly paraphrased, equally well to civic affairs as to individuals. Dallas has decided to have a Fourth of July celebration and the money to pay the expenses of the big entertainment has been pledged. Now it is up to the citi zens of Dallas to do everything in their power to make the celebration indisputably the biggest thiog of its kind that has ever been held in Dallas. Needlework Guild Will Meet. Mrs. George T. Gerllnger aooounces an informal business meeting of the Dallas Needlework Guild on the lawn at the J. G. VanOrsdel residence Tues- ay afternoon, June 15, at 3 o'clock. Officers were elected at the melim- inary meeting a few weeks ago and the meeting next Tuesday will be in the nature of a membership campaign. Kerreshments will be served and pleas ant social features will add to the attractiveness of the meeting. It is the desire of the Guild that every women in Dallas who is Interested in the organization and the important charitable work which it is to accom plish should be present and take part in the meeting which is to be held Tuesday. Is it a headache, a backache, a sen sation of Irritability or twitching and uncontrollable nervousness? Something must be wrong with the head or back, a woman naturally says, but all the time the real trouble very often centers In the womanly organs In nine cases out of ten the seat of the difficulty is here, and a woman should take rational treat ment for Its cure. The local dlsordor and Inflammation of the delicate special organs of the sex should be treated steadily and systematically. Dr. Pierce, during a long period of practice, found that a prescription made up of the active medicinal principles of native American roots, extracted by the use of chemically pure glycerine, cured over ninety per cent, of such cases. After using this remedy for many years In his private practice he put it up In a form that would make It easily procurable, and it can be had at any store where medi cines are handled. The home grown berries have now begun to be placed in the local markets and in choosing between them, the purchaser shows little hesi tancy in favoring the larger and better flavored berries of this state over the inferior imported fruit. Ore gon's fruits may be a trifle more back ward In getting ready to be placed on sale, but once ready, there is no dis counting their merits. Call For County Warrants.
