the past month, the airship companies

existence like mushrooms in all of
the larger cities of the United States,
should have little trouble in disposing
of their stock.
A state veterinarian at an annual
salary of $2000 is provided for in a
bill introduced by Representative ;
Hawley. The purpose of the bill is to
guard against and eradicate all dan
gerous and infectious di-seases in
cattle and other stock in the state, pro
vide a method of controlling the treat-' I
tnent and cure of these diseases and
furnish penalties for the violation of ,
the law. It is provided toat the gov- j
ernor shall appoint a state veterina- i
rian, who shall be a graduate of a ;
veterinary college and shall be recom- j
mended to the governor by the slate ;
board of health. The oflieial shall re- j
ceive a salary oi fsyjn annually ana 1 1
traveling expenses not to exceed $1."'.I0. j
He shall qualify with a bond of JlwO.
If necessary for the transaction of I
the business of the office or durincj
epidemics or other unusual conditions
making the work of the office heavy, j
the state office may appoint a county j
deputy, who shall receive not more i
than $fi00 a year. Stock afflicted with !
dangerous or incurable diseases may
be killed upon the order of the state i
veterinarian. j

the provisions of the bill an appropri

tain the office.
