Work on the lateral mains in the sewer system was commenced this week, the large mains on Washington and Oak streets having been practi cally completed last week. A. J. Barham has traded his resi dence property, which he purchased of W. A. Wash, to William Koyt, of Perrydale, who will move to Dallas to reside some time next spring. Thomas A. Fowler left for his home in Sherman county, Saturday, after a four-days' visit with relatives in Dallas. He was accompanied home by his cousin, Dr. T. V. B. Embree. A. J. Bewley and R. L. Rice shipped a carload of hogs to the Portland market Tuesday that was above the average. They were a fine clean lot and averaged 225 pounds. Sheridan Sun. W. J.
