Butler of Remember, brother Republican, that it was Republican votes that enacted the Primary law in Oregon. If you don'tlikethe law, repeat it. But while it Is law, observe it. A red-hot argument by women against Woman Suffrage has been filed in the office of the Secretary of State. The document is signed by women from all parts of the state, and will be given wide circulation before ine coming election, wnat Is mere man to do now? Who shall decide, when women disagree? The first move toward suppressing the notorious cralion houses near the Grande Ronde agency in Polk county was made in Justice Hoi man's court this afternoon, when the proprietors were arraigned for a preliminary hearing. A large number of citizens of Douglas precinct were present when the testimony was taken, as the inter est in the crusade against these pub lic nuisances is very deep in that neighborhood. The cases against D. E. Emmett and A. Flynn were dismissed, since Emmett retired from the business about six weeks ago, and Flynn, after having moved his establishment from the Grand Ronde neighborhood to Gooseneck, gave np the business entirely a short time before he was arrested along with the three other men. Victor Gross and W. A. Butler waived examination and gave bonds in the sum of $200 each for their appearance in the Circuit Court. Wood Fpr Sale. Do you need wood? Loughary's Office Boy. a n il Cf-- To overcome the well-grounded r.A irawmablo objections of the more intel ligent to tbo (use of secret, medicinal com pounds, Dr. E. V. Pierce, of Buffalo, N. Y., sonic, time ago, decided to make a bold departure from the usual course pursued by the makers of put-i:p medicines for do mestic use, and, so has published broad cast and opttty to the whole world, a full and compteta list of all the ingredients entering ink-the composition of his widely celebrated fodiafies. Thus he has taken his numerous watrons and patients jnto his full jtonFjtnce. Thus too he has re- movedOiisfiiedicines from among secret nostrnuTof doubtful merits, and made thamLiicmedics of Known Composition. By this bold. ftep Dr.. Pierce hasshn-vri tiril'' pn fynryjj.tsaf'' of Hiclufanfttf-hCa that he is noi-TEiM to subject them to ilesk fiVPii'Y.- Not only does tlie wrapper of every bottle of Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery, the famous medicine for weak stomach, t rriu liver or biliousness and all catarrhal diseases wherever located, have printed upon it, in ji'nin h'nulish, a full and complete l'st of all the ingredients composing It, but a small boc;k has been compiled from numerous stanriard medical works, of all the dill'erent schools of practice containing very numer ous extracts from the writings of leading practitioners of medicine, endorsing in the ftriittaeHt rwmjc term, each and every ingre dient contained in Llr. I'ierce's medicines. One of tbe.-e little books will be mailed free to any one sending address on postal card or by letter, to L'r. Ii. V. fierce. Buifalo. N. Y., and reuuestfnif the same. From this little book it will be learned that Dr. Pierce's med icines contain wo alcohol, narcotics, mineral at'ents or other poisonous or injurious agents and that they are made from native, medici nal roots of great value: also that some of the most valuable incredlents contained In Dr. I'ierce's l'avorito Prt .;crinlion for weak. nervous, over-worked, "run-down." nervoui and debilitated women, were employed, long years ago, by the Indians for similar ailments atiectinif their unlaws. In fact, one of the most valuable medicinal plants entering into me composition or )r. Pierce s ravonte Pre scription was known to the Indians as "tMlnaw-Weud." Our knowledgH of tlm hsps of not a few of our most valuable native, me dicinal plants was gained from the Indians.
