He says the rush of building Is so heavy In both towns that he finds it Impossible to keep up with his orders. W. S. Mumaw, of Riverside, Cali fornia, a brother-in-law of A. F. Stoner, has moved Into the Lindsay Robbins house, two doors south of the Christian Church. Mr. Mumaw is a widower, and intends to make his home in Dallas.' - V. H. McCoin and Jud Zerolf arrived In Dallas from Prineville Sunday with a band of horses, which they will endeavor to dispose of here. They left Prineville with 75 head on June 3 and sold all but 16 head before reaching Dallas. L. C. Koser was struck on the head and painfully injured while working on a barn on the David Peters farm, Saturday. He was taken to his home in Rickreall, but did not regain consciousness for several hours. Under the care of Dr. Boliman, he la resting comfortably, and the prospects for his recovery are good. It is said that over at Newport the cottages are already filled and that it is impossible to lease one anywhere for the summer. There is promise of this year being a record breaker for crowds at the bay, and this resort is rapidly becoming one of the most noted on the coast, as it deserves to be. Corvallis Gazette. The M. E. Church of Dallas held It3 annual Children's Day exercises Sun day evening. Those present . were well pleased, and say that the pro gram was the best of its kind ever rendered In that church. Hoppy has received a call from theTiffany Presbyterian Church, of Syracuse, New York, to do special solo work, beginning with the third week of July and continuing until October 1, when his evangelistic work will open in New York for the coming year. County Clerk E. M. Smith issued license to wed to Professor Fred S. Crowley and Miss Alta Hlnshaw, Saturday. Professor Crowley is a member of one of Polk county's well- known families and was principal of the Falls City public school last year. His bride Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Zimri Hlnshaw, of Falls City. Willie Caldwell, of Falls City, a 13- year-old boy who was found guilty of tampering with a check, was up be fore County Judge Coad, Monday, for a hearing. In view of his youth and several exterior Influences that led him Into his false step, the Judge re leased him on parole, warning him that a second offense would land him in the State Reform School. Orville Paine, who was arrested for the same offense and was tried before the Jus tice or the Peace in Falls City, last week, was fined $21. He had raised a check bv the amount of 85 cents. Haynes, a veteran of the con federate army, and a Methodist, South, preacher of Lebanon, worked all week, quit at 6 o'clock Saturday, walked 16 miles, rode horseback 6 miles, by train 40 miles, preached two sermons and was home Monday morning In time to go to work again.
