Elkin8 vs. James Morgan, which was tried in Dallas last Thursday, a decision was rendered by Judge Boise grant ing a decree to the plaintiff. The case was over two acres of land near Independence which both parties claimed through defects in a deed of transfer, and the suit was brought to have the deed rectified and the plaintiffs placed in posses session of the south half of the property. Considerable interest was centered in the case over the fact of the county records and deeds showing a transfer of the whole of the property, but the court decided that the intention of the parties was to transfer but one half of the land, although the deed showed the whole. Congratulations. Mr. John II. The iunior class of the State Normal School gave an informal reception in the assembly-room, at 8 o'clock Friday evening. The room was appropriately decorated with the class colors, and a literary and musical programme was render ed, after which an hour was given lo various games and a social time. What's In a Name? The boys have been in the habit of lumping on and off freight cars while switching in the yards and although duly cautioned by the marshal they kept up the sport thereby endangering life and limb.
