Harold Wayne Goodwin, 66, of Wells, Nev., in the 500 block of Warren St. S. on Sept. 2 for DUII. Miguel Jose Quintin Zogg, 23, of Independence, at Main St. E. and Warren St. on Sept. 2 for DUII, reckless endangering — disorderly conduct, and refusal of test for intoxicants. Bradley Hackett (Matt), Erik Moen (Deborah) and Grant Moen, along with four great- grandchildren, Jake Hackett, Max Hackett, Hannah Moen and Connor Moen. She was a devoted moth- er, “gramma” and “GG” ex- traordinaire. Donna grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany Union High School. She stayed at home rais- ing her three children until they all started attending el- ementary school. She then went to work as a bookkeeper for Nissen Ford in Albany. In 1965, she and Del pur- chased the A&W Restaurant in Sweet Home, that they owned until 1979. Being an A&W owner was actually a family trait, as D o n n a’s c o u s i n W i l l i e Reeser, and brothers Kenny and Sam Erb also owned A&W restaurants. Upon retirement, they moved to Salem and made many friends in the Salem Town Retirement community. Donna and Del had a pas- sion for travel. They joined the motorhome movement early on and enjoyed many trips throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Canada with friends and family. As snow- birds, they loved spending their winters in Yuma, Ariz. She also loved playing the piano, golf, entertaining, “doing lunch,” bridge, Sweet Adelines, Beta Sigma Pi, at- tending sporting events, es- pecially those of family members, and picnics. Donna will be missed by her family and many friends. A celebration of life will be held at Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Donna’s honor to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund of your choice. We can’t afford it on a fixed income. Please help. Thank you, his mother. OBITUARIES Carol D. Ellis Dec. 24, 1950 – Sept. 2, 2017 Carol D. Ellis, a resident of Dallas, passed to her Heav- enly Father Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, in Salem. Daughter of Ralph and Althea Hiscock, she was born on Dec. 24, 1950, in Redwood City, Calif. She was raised with a love of horses. She met her hus- band John in Red- wood City, and they were married there on Dec. 23, 1968. John was a career soldier, and she moved with him to many duty stations. She often stated, “John was in the Army. I just went along for the ride.” On retiring from the Army in June 1991, they came to Dallas to live near her fami- ly. Carol worked for a time at the Dallas Retirement Home and Ellendale Home, where she made many friends among staff and residents. Carol was an avid collec- tor of teddy bears. This made it easy for her husband to buy her gifts. Her favorite was a small bear with a T-shirt that read, “When all else fails, hug Daddy.” Her collection con- sisted of not only soft and cuddly but; crystal, wooden- face, and ceramic bears. She would usually be seen wear- ing T-shirts with bears on them. She is survived by her husband John; daughter Cynthia Rowand; son Rus- sell Ellis; grandchildren Gail Rowand, Kathryn Ellis, Grace Ellis, and Josiah Ellis; her sister Virginia McDaniel; brother Donald Hiscock; and several nieces and nephews. Viewing was Friday, Sept. 8, in the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Funeral serv- ices were held Saturday, Sept. 9, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dallas. Private in- terment will be in Willamette National Ceme- tery in Portland. www.dal- lastribute.com. Larry D. Green March 23, 1944 – Sept. 6, 2017 Larry D. Green, a resident of Dallas, died on Wednes- day, Sept. 6. Larry was born on March 23, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of John and Bess Green. T h e f a m i l y moved to Dallas in 1947. Larry graduated from Dal- las High School in 1962. Larry married DeAnn Schellenberg on Aug. 26, 1966, in Dallas. He received a junior ac- counting degree from Mer- ritt Davis and attended Grace Bible Institute and Arizona Bible College. Larry was a farmer for most of his life, spending the majority of that time with his father-in-law and broth- ers-in-law at Schellenberg Farms. He had also worked for area farmers; Hershel Wait, Marvin Fast and Stapleton Farms. Prior to moving to the family farm, he worked with The Arlie Walker Juve- nile Shelter in Dallas for sev- eral years. Larry and DeAnn traveled to the Philippines and Bel- gium on church construc- tion missions. He was a charter member of Faith Evangelical Free Church. Larry has been a Sunday school teacher and served on the Elder Board and past Chairman for over 35 years. He enjoyed Biblical studies. Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing table games. Larry loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, DeAnn; daughter, Linda (Paul) Bibler; son, Anthony (Danita) Green; brothers, John, Robert, Thomas and James Green; sisters, Becky Green and Peggy Geisler; along with grandchildren, Christina (Bryan) Harmon, Rachel and Gary Lipp; and great-grandchildren Michael and Melyssa Lipp. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Bess. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. at Faith Evangelical Free Church. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Dallas Mortu- ary Tribute Center. Inter- ment will be in Salt Creek Cemetery. To leave an online condo- lence for the family go to www.dallastribute.com Andrew Young Oct. 8, 1996 – Aug. 19, 2017 PFC Andrew Young was born to his parents, Scott and Chelle Young in Salem, on Oct. 8, 1996, and lived in Dallas his entire life. He at- tended G r a c e Ch r i st i an p r e - school, Oakdale Elemen- t a r y , LaCreole Middle School, D a l l a s H i g h School and Morrison Campus, where he received his high school diploma in June 2015. Andrew enjoyed playing football at both LaCreole Middle School and Dallas High School. After high school, he en- listed in the Army, and after basic and advanced individ- ual training, Andrew went on to attend and graduate from Airborne School; all in Fort Benning, Ga. In January of 2016, An- drew was assigned to the 173rd infantry brigade. He served with Attack Compa- ny, 1st battalion, 503rd in- fantry regiment until his passing on Aug. 19, 2017. PFC Young participated in numerous exercises and op- e ra t i o n a l d e p l oy m e n t s across Europe, including Operation Atlantic Sentry, where he earned the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal. Andrew’s other awards in- clude the Army Service Rib- bon, National Defense Serv- ice Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Global War on Ter- ror Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Parachute Badge. He desired to follow this career path from the age of 4, and proudly served his country and the U.S. Army, it was his childhood dream come true. PFC Young is survived by his parents Scott and Chelle; sister Katee and many other friends and family members who love him. Andrew was laid to rest at Willamette National Ceme- tery on Sept. 5, 2017, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, dona- tions can be made in PFC An- drew B. Donna Lee Moen Sept. 18, 1928 – Sept. 7, 2017 Donna Lee Moen passed away peacefully in Salem early Thursday morning, Sept. 7, 2017. She was born on Sept. 18, 1928, in Al- b a n y, t o parents Jennie and Elmer Erb, and was the fourth of five Erb children, Kenny, Betty, Richard and Darrell (Sam), all of whom proceeded her in death. Donna married Delton Moen on Sept. 28, 1947, in Albany. Del proceeded her in death in 1998. They raised three chil- dren, Sherida Bradley (Rick), Carla Serfas (Ron) and Kevin Moen (Nancy). She also had three grandchildren, Monica S OME D ECISIONS H AVE A V ERY P ROFOUND E FFECT . Ted Laurence Satter May 22, 1968 – July 25, 2017 Ted Laurence Satter, 49, died July 25. He was a good son. He was depressed over his wife passing away from can- c e r, p l u s his dad a few years before. He took care of his mother when no one else could. He realized his mom was in good care and went to follow Carolyn, his wife. Contributions would be Robert ‘Bob’ Perkins Sr. Aug. 26, 1949 – Sept. 8, 2017 Robert “Bob” Perkins passed peacefully with fami- ly by his bedside on Sept. 8, 2017. Bob was born on Aug. 26, 1949, in Portsmouth, Va., to Frances Simon Perkins and LeRoy Perkins. Bo b g ra d u a t e d f ro m Tillamook High School, at- tended Oregon State Uni- versity, and received his bache- lor’s degree from the Oregon College of Education (OCE/WOU). His career consisted of working as a patrol deputy with the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office, lieutenant and commander of the Clat- sop County Jail, youth and family counselor for Mid- Valley Youth Services, with his employment career con- cluding when he retired from Polk County Youth Pro- grams as a youth and family counselor. He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Perkins, in 1986, and his mother, Frances Simon Perkins, in 1992. He is survived by his brother, Dennis Perkins (Susan), of Madison, Con- necticut; his son, Robert Perkins Jr. (Melissa), of Inde- pendence; and his grand- son, Ryan Perkins, of Inde- pendence. Bob loved the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, reading, fishing, and riding horses. He wished to be remembered as a “Dead head, Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather, and Friend.” A special thank you to the Lynda, Jennifer, and the amazing staff at the Kaiser Skyline Nurse Treatment Room, Wes and his staff in building three of the Salem Hospital, Phil and Lisa with Willamette Valley Hospice, and Yvonne VanHorn. Your kindness, compassion, and professionalism during these difficult times for Bob and his family were welcome rays of sunshine in what were otherwise rainy days.
