Matthew St. on May 29 for physical harassment. • Gustavo Alvarado Facundo Jr., 23, of Independence, on N. Polk St. on Saturday for deliv- ery of methamphetamine, pos- session of methamphetamine, and carrying a concealed weapon. On Monday in the 1300 block of Monmouth St., Facundo was charged with fourth-degree aggravated as- sault with a weapon, third-de- gree robbery, and interfering with making a police report. • Brian James Fouse, 30, of Monmouth, in the 500 block of S. Main St. on Saturday for vio- lating a restraining order. • Guadalupe Trujillo, 29, of Independence, in the 100 block of N. Polk S.t on Monday for third-degree escape. MONMOUTH Arrests/Citations • Jami Lynn Stephens, 31, of Monmouth, in the 800 block of Main St. E. on May 24 for first- degree felony failure to appear. • Christopher Sean-Ervin Whitney, 28, of Monmouth, in the 1300 block of Ridgeview St. on May 30 for felony strangula- tion, third-degree assault, and first-degree criminal mischief. Welsh said Salem ambulance crews had to be called in to cover stations while emergency responders were stretched thin. Later in the evening, someone called to report another fire on Clow Corner Road. Lucky for fire crews, it turned out to be a legal bonfire and no response was needed. “It was a very busy night,” Welsh said. OBITUARIES Terry Robert Bunnell ‘Ted’ Flossie Mary (Goertz) Kliewer April 9, 1954 – May 21, 2017 April 8, 1923 – May 29, 2017 Terry Robert Bunnell, a resident of Dallas, died on May 21, 2017, in Portland. He was 63 years of age. Terry “Ted” was born on April 9, 1954, in Coos Bay and was the son of Bernard and Roberta (Salter) Bun- nell. He attended school at Milo Academy in Canyonville and moved to Califor nia for a shor t time. In 1979, Ted moved to Dallas, where he worked for W i l l a m e t t e In d u s t r i e s , which later became Weyer- haeuser. He retired in 2008 when the mill closed. He was also a caregiver for his dad, Bernard. Ted enjoyed spending time with family and friends, boating and fishing on the Oregon Coast. He had a big heart and would take the time to help his neighbors and to make sure they had what they needed. Ted is survived by his three children, Levi Bunnell, Luke Bunnell and McKenzie Nena; his mother, Roberta Bunnell-Clow; brothers, Larry Bunnell and Lee Bun- nell; and his sister, Lynne Irwin; along with six grand- children and two great- grandchildren. A celebration of Ted’s life was on Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dallas City Park. Contributions may be made in memory of Ted to the Tuality Healthcare Foun- dation. Donelson Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. Flossie Mary (Goertz) Kliewer, a resident of Dallas Retirement Village, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2017, with her sons at her bedside. Flossie was born on April 8, 1923, in Dallas, to parents Nick and Margaret ( Wiens) Goertz. Sh e a t t e n d e d D a l l a s schools and graduated from Dallas High School in 1941. She was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings; her husband Abe Kliewer; and their first baby Leslie James Kliewer. Flossie and Abe were mar- ried on Feb. 2, 1943. Abe worked for Willamette Industries as a grader until his retirement. Abe passed away in 1997. Flossie worked as a home- maker raising four energetic boys; she also worked for Agri-Pac in Salem for many years. She was an active mem- b e r o f t h e Me n n o n i t e Brethren Church. She had a strong and loving commit- ment to God and the church as well as her family and many friends. Flossie loved camping with the family during the summer vacations when her children were young; she passed on that love of the outdoors to her sons and grandchildren. After retirement, she and Abe traveled to Illinois sev- eral times to visit family. They also visited Washing- ton, D.C., and Hawaii. Flossie is survived by her sons and their spouses: Phil Kliewer, Ken (Sheri) Kliewer, Steve (Sharon) Kliewer, and Mark (Renee’) Kliewer; with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her eighth great-grandchild was born earlier this month. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, in the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Stewart Oct. 19, 1958 – May 28, 2017 Billy Lee Stewart, 58, died Sunday, May 28, 2017, at his home surrounded by loved ones, following a tough bat- tle with pancreatic cancer. Billy was born Oct. 19, 1958, in Ta c o m a , Wash., to Billy Joe Stewart and Con- nie Joann Stewart (Weight). Billy grew up in Aumsville before moving with his fam- ily to Valsetz in 1969. Billy graduated from Valsetz High School in 1978. He married the love of his life, Cherie Stewart (Delano) July 1, 1977. Billy worked for Boise Cascade after high school until its closing of the mill in Dallas. He then went on to become a diesel mechanic for Knife River in Will- sonville. Billy enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and spending time with his fam- ily and mostly his grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe and mother, Connie. Biro Dec. 7, 1929 – June 4, 2017 Andrew R. Biro, of Falls City, died June 4, 2017, at the age of 87. He was born in Detroit, Mich., on Dec. 7, 1929, to Anton and Hazel (Rainwa- ter) Biro. He served in both the Army and Air Force between 1951 and 1960. Andy worked in construc- tion as both a concrete fin- isher for 15 years and as a welder for 20 years. He enjoyed sports greatly, was a proud member of the Falls City Seventh-day Ad- ventist Church, and loved to travel as a missionary, which he did with his wife Patricia. He is survived by his wife Patricia; children Chris Biro, Jeffrey Biro, Alta Coate, William Shrouf, Vernon Griffin and James Griffin; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Johnathan was an avid reader, had a love of music, and was a video gamer. Johnathan was a commu- nity volunteer. He served on the Falls City Budget and Public Works committees, he helped with the local food bank, and organized an annual SOLVE cleanup day. Johnathan is survived by his parents Terry and Char- lotte (Dowell) Ungricht, of Falls City; and his sister Mi- randa Hamilton, of CDA, Idaho. He was a proud uncle to his niece Piper Hamilton, a passionate debater, and loyal fan of the Miami Dol- phins. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
