Morris, of Dallas, moved to his heavenly home on Jan. 22 at the age of 92. John was born in Canby on Jan. 9, 1925, to Glen E. and Elva (Schultz) Morris. J o h n worked in the Lum- ber Indus- try and began his career in 1947 first in Molalla, and then Valsetz, before working with Willamette In- dustries in Dallas as a Lum- ber Grader for over 40-some years. He married Miriam Rem- pel in Dallas on Feb. 11, 1949, and together raised three children. John was a very active person and loved to hunt, fish, travel and camp, but mostly he loved to volunteer and help anyone who need- ed it. At one time, he partici- pated in helping out at the senior center, working as a tour guide at Willamette In- dustries, and even helped build Grace Mennonite Church, which is now Grace Community, without expecting any compensa- tion. John was an active mem- ber of Evangelical Bible Church in Dallas and a life- time member of local union 2714. John is survived by his wife Miriam; children Bob Morris, Roger Morris and Chris Rupp; sister Marge Rabe; three grandchildren and six great-grandchil- dren. He was very proud to be an identical twin to his brother Jonas Morris, who preceded him in death, along with his other sib- lings Frank Morris and Iola Sebern. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at the Chapel of Dallas Retirement Village. A visitation will be Wednes- day, Jan. 25, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center, who is also caring for the family. Online condolences can be made at: www.dallastrib- ute.com. Patrick Lee Woodward July 8, 1943 – Jan. 18, 2017 Pat Woodward, 73, of Salem, died peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Tillamook to Virgil and Anne Wood- ward, and was the oldest of six siblings. He attended school in Salem and graduated f r o m S o u t h S a l e m H i g h School in 1961. Pat mar- ried Cathie Gibbons in November 1975 at Roberts Community Church in Salem. They were married 41 years, and adopted seven children from India. They raised their family in a house they built mere steps away from Pat’s childhood home. He started working for Spokane, Portland & Seattle Railway in 1964, which later merged into Burlington Northern Railway. Pat ad- vanced from laborer to ma- chine operator to foreman — and finally track inspec- tor before retiring in 2004. He also served for eight years in the Oregon National Guard. Pat loved working on au- tomobiles and owned an en- gine and machine repair shop for many years. He had a knack for fixing just about any vehicle in front of him. His father used to say, “If it has a piston, Pat can make it run.” His love for cars extended to drag racing, and he won many races during the 1960s in the Willamette Valley. Pat also enjoyed hunting, re- loading ammunition, his dachshunds, and spending winters in Arizona. Pat is survived by his wife Cathie; sons Raju, Josha, and Mani; daughters Geeta, Aneesha, and Anamika; brothers Michael and Gary; sisters Jeri Ann, Joanne, and Annette. He was preceded in death by his daughter Anjuli. His family wishes to thank Willamette Valley Hospice for their care and support, and requests that any dona- tions be made to Willamette Valley Hospice. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Farn- strom Mortuary in Inde- pendence. Robert ‘Bobby’ Joseph Young April 16, 1980 – Jan. 15, 2017 Robert “Bobby” Joseph Young, 36, died on Jan. 15 from complications from Type 1 diabetes. Bobby is survived by his par- ents, Bob a n d Pa m Young. H i s s o n s , Dylan and Lopaka. His sisters, Jennifer, Tiffany and Sophia. He is survived by Aunt Donna Walton, Uncle Paul Smith, and many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved, Vanessa, Jo- cely, Gracie, Faith, Zach, Wyatt and Ian. Bobby worked with his dad in the construction business, mainly roofing. His heart was serving oth- ers; his hobbies were collect- ing sports cards and tattoo- ing. Bobby graduated from Falls City High School and has been a part of the com- munity and made friends with everyone he met. He will be missed. Dani Jo Wagner Oct. 30, 1962 – Jan. 15, 2017 Dani Jo Wagner, a resident of Falls City, died on Sunday, Jan. 15. She was born on Oct. 30, 1962, in Dallas, the daughter of Danny and Betty Jones Scott. Dani Jo graduated from Dallas High School in 1980. D a n i Jo m a r r i e d K a r l “Corky” Wagner on Nov. 1, 1980, in Dallas. They lived in Dallas for two years and then settled in Falls City. She worked at Agripac for sever- al years. Dani Jo later worked at Ugo’s Pizza and Not So Famous Pizza in Dal- las for many years. Dani Jo enjoyed elk and deer hunting, along with fishing. She also enjoyed rid- ing dirt bikes, three-wheel- ers, and quads. She liked going to Sand Lake with her family. She enjoyed sewing, baking and cooking. Dani Jo enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Corky; daughter, Stefani (Micah); grandchil- dren, Karli-Jean, Kassidi, Kaidyn, Kynli, Kamdyn, Tianna, Charles and Logan; and daughter, Kori (Matt); grandchildren, Rylie, Kolbie, a n d Sk y l e r ; s o n , K . C . (Danielle); grandchild, Christofer; parents, Danny and Betty Scott; brother, Don (Bev) Scott. Funeral Services will be on Friday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. at Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. A reception will fol- low at the Falls City Fire De- partment. Private interment will be in the Upper Falls City Cemetery. This endeavor was near and dear to her heart. She retired in 1999 and moved to Lebanon, where she continued to camp along the Oregon coast, Bend and La Pine were fa- vorite spots. Family was everything to Len, she made a beautiful home, loved camping, ar- rowhead hunting, music, dancing and playing cards. She surrounded herself with friends who loved to laugh. (Hergenrether) Ray, 44, of West Salem, for- merly of Dallas, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 21, 2017. Krista was born Dec. 1, 1972, in Medford. Growing up in the Medford area, Krista was active i n J o b’s Daughters, 4-H, Junior Comets, and Rotary Ex- change. Krista spent her senior year of high school as an exchange student in the Netherlands. She graduated from Crater High School in Central Point in June of 1991. After graduation, she attended the University of Oregon, earning her Bache- lor of Arts degree in psychol- ogy with a minor in special education. Upon gradua- tion from the University of Oregon, Krista worked for the State of Oregon in the Social Services Office, first in Roseburg, and later in the Medford and White City of- fices. In 1996, she married her high-school sweetheart, Tim Ray, also of Medford. In 2002, Krista and Tim wel- comed their first child, a son, Tyler. In 2005, Krista and her family moved to Dallas, where their daughter, Kendall, was born. Krista was a devoted and loving mother to Tyler and Kendall, as well as many other chil- dren and families in her life. She volunteered in the Dal- las schools, helping start the Lion’s Den program at Lyle Elementary while being an educational assistant. She was an active member of the Grace Community Church while living in Dallas. In 2014, Krista moved to Columbus, Ohio, for two years before returning to West Salem in 2016. Her family was the joy of her life and Krista spent many hours watching her children play soccer and t- ball. She was an active pho- tographer and scrapbooker, making many albums and memories for her family. Krista also was an FFA mom to many of Tim’s students. Krista was first diagnosed with breast cancer in the John Daniel McQueen Oct. 29, 1940 – Jan. 6, 2017 John Daniel McQueen, 76, of Salem, died on Jan. 6. He was born on Oct. 29, 1940, to Willard H. and Ruth F. Mc- Queen in Mountain City, Tenn. He graduated from Dallas H i g h School in 1957. H e owned Dal- las Auto Parts and was a salesman for Genuine Parts Co. He was a member of the Independ- ence Elks Lodge, and a re- servist with the U.S. Marine Corps. John is survived by broth- er, Stan McQueen, of Dallas; Mary Bakke, of Salem; a daughter in Texas and a son in Oregon. Mary Jane Davidson Engle Sept. 18, 1933 – Jan. 22, 2017 Salem Ma r y Ja n e Da v i d s o n Engle passed peacefully Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at Evergreen Samaritan Hos- pice, Albany, after a long ill- ness. Mary is survived by her partner Gerry Engle; daugh- ter Kathy Hill; sons Willie Davidson, Scott Engle and Chris Engle; grandchildren Eric Hill, Erin Johnson, Michele Davidson, Michael Davidson, Amelia Brooks, Quincie Engle, Tucker Engle; great-grandchildren Lucy, Grace, Mary Jane, Henry Hill, and Sondre Brooks. Her son, Mike Clark preceded her in death. Through hard work, fantastic doctors, and very aggressive treat- ments, she conquered can- cer and went into remission for several years. In the fall of 2013, the cancer returned. Doctors in both Oregon and Ohio worked very hard to control and contain the can- cer. Krista remained deter- mined and continued to fight with all her might. Un- fortunately, the cancer was too aggressive and eventual- ly exhausted medical op- tions. Krista is survived by her husband Tim Ray and their two children Ty and Kendall of West Salem; her parents, Richard and Lorena Hergen- rether; her sister Kimberly; and her nephews Loren and Noah, of Grants Pass; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. A celebration of Krista’s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. at Grace Community Church in Dal- las.
