annual meeting
The Polk Soil and Water
Conservation District will
hold its annual meeting
Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30

Doll show returns
on Saturday
The Wagon Wheel Doller
Doll Club welcomes back
the 14th Fall Doll Show and
Sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to
4 p.m. at the Polk County
Fairgrounds, 560 S. Pacific
Highway W., Rickreall. Early
sales are from 9 to 10 a.m.
with an $8 admission. Reg-
ular sales are from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m. with a $5 admis-
sion. Children 10 and
younger are free.
There will be more than
100 sales tables featuring
dolls of every kind, bears,
miniatures and doll related
items.
Sale proceeds are donat-
ed to local community
groups including the Hu-

The Pedee Women’s Club hosted its inaugural quilt show Friday and Saturday. Club
members expected to receive 40 quilts to display, but ended up with 134. One particu-
larly unique quilt was made as a wedding gift in 1940.
