Lunch includes a wrap, chips, dessert and bottled water. WOU hosts series Summer heatwave Western Oregon Universi- ty will host the Summer Heatwave Concert Series each Wednesday through the end of July. The concerts are free and begin at noon in the Werner University Center Plaza. Wednesday (today) fea- tures the Ben Rice Blue Ba n d a n d c o b b l e r f o r dessert. July 13 features JT Tourist. Cell phones for Soldiers starting The Steele Insurance Agency, 3400 State St., Salem, will hold the Cell Phones for Soldiers Drive throughout the month of July. The agency will collect used cellphones with the goal of providing free talk time to our soldiers. In 2015, the drive collect- ed 164 cellphones resulting in more than 140 hours of calling time for soldiers all over the world. Interested vendors may contact the city manager’s office at 503-831-3502. ‘The Aliens’ play opens Friday Pentacle Theatre, 324 52nd Ave. NW, Salem, will show the play, “The Aliens” by Annie Baker and directed by Jeff Brownson Friday through July 30. The comedy/drama focus on three young men who hang out in a coffee shop in modern-day Vermont. Tickets cost $20 for week- day performances and $21 for weekend shows.
