Grace Community
offers Bible school
Grace Community
Church, 598 E. Ellendale,
Ave., Dallas, will offer Vaca-
tion Bible School Friday
through July 1 from 9 a.m. to
noon.
Cost is $10 for one to two
kids and $15 for three or
more in the same house-
hold. The school is open to
kids entering preschool
through fifth grade.
The theme this year is
Cave Quest: Following Jesus,
the light of the world.

Volunteers sought
for MI parade
Luckiamute Watershed
Council and Polk Soil and
Water Conservation District
are looking for volunteers
for the 2016 Monmouth-In-
dependence Rotary Club
Grand Parade on July 4.
Volunteers are needed for
the rear detachment, which
consists of riding or walking
along side Claudia, a 14-foot
tall Chinook salmon, to
spread the word about keep-
ing streams and streets
clean. Volunteers may hold
signs or carry trash bags and
encourage the public to de-
posit bottles, cans, candy
wrappers and any other
trash and recyclables they
have.

The parade route is ap-
proximately 3.3 miles long,

p.m. at the Polk County OSU

Polk County Fair is Aug. 11-
