NEWBERG — Holly Sherman, of Dallas, earned a Bachelor of Arts in social and behavioral studies. She was among the more than 750 undergraduate, adult de- gree and graduate-level students who received diplomas in commencement ceremonies at George Fox University this spring. All told, 365 students received bachelor’s degrees after com- pleting study in one of George Fox’s 41 undergraduate bache- lor’s degree majors or its adult degree programs. Another 333 students earned graduate-level degrees from the university’s masters, doctoral and educational specialist programs, and 67 students earned bachelor's degrees through the school’s adult degree programs. The university hosted its main undergraduate commence- ment ceremony on April 30. Costa named to president’s list FRONT ROYAL, Va. — Lucas Costa, of Monmouth, earned a spot on the president’s list at Randolph-Macon Academy for the fourth quarter of the 2015-16 school year. Only students with a grade-point average of 4.0 and higher are named to the president’s list. Costa also received a gold medal for his outstanding score on the Spanish National Exam. He is the son of Cinthia Costa Jones, of Monmouth, and Alexandre Costa, of Curitiba, Brazil. Locals graduate from Marylhurst MARYLHURST — More than 400 bachelor’s and master’s de- gree candidates were honored at Marylhurst University’s 122nd commencement on Saturday at the Oregon Convention Center. Two local students earned their master’s degrees: Laurel Visher, of Dallas, Master of Arts in teaching; and Derek Young, of Independence, Master of Business Administration. Fast, Tichenor named to dean’s list SPOKANE, Wash. — Seth Fast and Isaak Tichenor, both of Dallas, were named to the dean’s list at Gonzaga. Students must have a GPA of 3.50 to 3.69 to be listed.
