JOLENE GUZMAN/ Itemizer-Observer COMMUNITY NOTEBOOK Registration open for ‘triathlon’ games Registration is open for the city of Dallas’ Triathlon Field Games on June 4. Fes- tivities begin at 11 a.m. with a free barbecue. Games begin at 12:15 p.m. Deadline to sign up is June 1. Cost is $20 per team with two members per team. There is a 36 team limit. The triathlon consists of bocce ball, corn hole and disc golf, and will be held at Dallas City Park. Rules for each game will be explained prior to start- ing. Airlie Winery to host celebration A i r l i e Wi n e r y, 1 5 2 7 5 Dunn Forest Road, Mon- mouth, will hold a Memori- al Day weekend celebration Friday through Monday from noon to 5 p.m. It is also Airlie’s 30th an- niversary. Cost is $10 for all three days. A wine glass and five tastes are included. If you already own a glass, the cost is $5. Food and live entertain- ment will also be presented throughout the weekend. For more information: 503-838-6013. United Way seeks volunteers for day The United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley is seeking volunteers for its annual Day of Action on June 17 from 8 a.m. to noon. The Day of Action features volunteers coming together to complete service projects that impact vulnerable chil- dren and families. This year, volunteers will provide needed assistance to local elementary schools and United Way’s partner agencies.
