Thir ty-minute class demonstrations will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will run until 12:30 p.m. Formats include Zumba, spinning, kickbox- ing and lite fit. Monmouth Fitness Club is located at 165 E. Willamette Art to host fundraiser The Willamette Art Center is “All Fired Up for Art.” Illu- minations is the theme of the center’s inaugural art auction benefit, to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at Salem Convention Cen- ter’s Santiam Room, 200 Commercial St. SE, Salem. Proceeds from the event boost the art center’s com- munity programs such as Family Clay Sunday, Empty B ow l s , Po t t e r y i n t h e Schools Program, school field trips, scholarships and the Artisans Village at the Oregon State Fair. City crews and departments were on hand with displays, demos and games — and free hot dogs of Art present the artwork of three emerging artists from WOU’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program. Students Debi Miller (ce- ramics), Eric Loftin (paint- ing, drawing), and Spencer Miller (printmaking) will ex- hibit a variety of work com- pleted during the 2014-15 school year. The exhibit, BFA Thesis Showcase: Beyond The Sur- face, will be on view at the Cannon Gallery of Art from Tuesday through June 13. An opening reception for the artists, free and open to the public, will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday (today). The artists will be on hand to answer any questions and discuss their work. This exhibit was made possible through the hard work and dedication of the staff and faculty of the West- ern Oregon University Art Department. The Cannon Gallery of Art is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends by appoint- ment.
