A variety of soups, includ- ing chicken noodle, veg- etable beef, clam chowder, smoked salmon chowder and vegetarian, will be avail- able. A variety of pies will also be available. Cost is a suggested dona- tion of $3 per bowl of soup and $2 per slice of pie. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mon- mouth Senior Center, 180 S. Warren St., is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Mon- mouth Senior Center. For more information: 503-838-5678. Dallas seniors will serve up soup, pie Dallas Area Seniors will host its annual Soup and Pie Sale on Friday. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dallas Senior Center, 955 SE Jefferson St. Cost is $5 and the menu will feature a variety of soups, including clam chow- der, split pea and taco soup, as well as an assortment of homemade pies. Lillyanna Faircloth, 8, of Independence has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Oregon Pageant to be held May 23-25 in Portland. The pageant is for girls aged 4 to 18. Faircloth will compete in the Junior Pre- teen division. The winner will receive $1,000, the official crown and banner, roses and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant in California.
