There were two tickets in tho field viz the “ Citizens’’ and “ Taxpayers.” Dr U B Job of tho Citizen’s ticket was elected mayor over R M Veatch by a small majority of five votes. J I Jones was elected councilman from the 1st ward without opposition. In the 2nd ward S R Piper defeated Frank Wheeler for councilman, by a handsome majority. C H VanDen- b urg an independent canidate in tbe 3rd ward was elected by a big majority. F H Rosenburg and U S Martin were tbe regular nominees. Attornay J E Young was re-elected City Recorder and Herbert Eakin, treasurer. The new council elect will take the city reins next Monday.
